China’s steel exports fell 9.2% month-on-month in June 2024.
In July, the average FOB price of hot-rolled coils in Tianjin Port was US$515/ton, down US$16/ton from June; the average FOB price of cold-rolled coils in Tianjin Port was US$576/ton, down US$13/ton from June; the average FOB price of hot-dip galvanized coils in Tianjin Port was US$629/ton, down US$17/ton from June; the average FOB price of medium and thick plates in Tianjin Port was US$511/ton, down US$19/ton from June; the average FOB price of rebar in Zhangjiagang was US$501/ton, down US$18/ton from June; the average FOB price of wire rods in Zhangjiagang was US$511/ton, down US$20/ton from June.

In June, my country’s steel export destinations were mainly Vietnam and South Korea, which was consistent with the performance in May; the amount of steel exported to Chile increased significantly; the amount of steel exported to Vietnam decreased by 25.5% month-on-month, but Vietnam still ranked first among export destinations. It can be seen from the below table that Southeast Asian countries are my country’s main export destinations.

According to the latest data, on August 2, the FOB price of hot-rolled coil at Tianjin Port was US$487/ton, down US$38/ton from the same period last month; the FOB price of cold-rolled coil at Tianjin Port was US$565/ton, down US$17/ton from the same period last month; the FOB price of hot-dip galvanized coil at Tianjin Port was US$615/ton, down US$23/ton from the same period last month; the FOB price of medium and thick plate at Tianjin Port was US$495/ton, down US$23/ton from the same period last month; the FOB price of rebar at Zhangjiagang was US$485/ton, down US$16/ton from the same period last month; the FOB price of wire rod at Zhangjiagang was US$492/ton, down US$25/ton from the same period last month.
